The sunshine and the 13,000 visitors at this year's annual Bentley Weald WoodFair made for a really memorable atmosphere and proved that this is an event that continues to go from strength to strength.
Bentley's unique site and beautiful woodland played host to over 150 exhibitors, with stalls and demonstrations ranging from traditional crafts to arboriculture, wildlife protection, tools, furniture, timber products and much more.
Throughout the weekend people perused the stalls, enjoyed the woodland walk - brought to life with traditional woodland and craft skills - and relaxed in the sunshine. With so much to see, the delights of the local produce marquee and the beer tent made a good place for a breather.
Alongside the stalls and exhibitors there were plenty of activities to join in and demonstrations to watch. One of the highlights of this year's event had to be the Hertfordshire Axe men with their impressive demonstrations and skills drawing crowds throughout the weekend.
The 46 metre high cherry picker offered a fantastic over view of the whole site, where other demonstrations taking place included hedgelaying, wood sculpture using chainsaws, treeclimbing, woodturning and a steam traction engine challenging a modern woodmizer saw to a wood cutting contest.
Lots of exhibitors focused on encouraging young people to take a keen interest in their natural environment - building shelters in the woods, learning about bats and bushcraft, storytelling, woodland skills and willow weaving.
With a free bus service, a beautiful site - complete with the bonus of all Bentley's regular attractions - there was a whole weekend's worth of activities to please the whole family.
Put it in your diary for next year - it's not to be missed.
