There is an exciting line-up of fantastic 'have a go' activities for children (and the young at heart) at Woodfair. You might like to have a go at weaving with willow, shooting an arrow, or even baking your own bread in an earth oven. Here are just a few of the other activities on offer:
The Archers of Herstmonceux Castle

Hands on History
Back by very popular demand, the Hands on History team will be focussing this year on the clothing, equipment, tools and weapons of our Stone Age, Neolithic and Bronze Age ancestors.
Presentations from 12 noon to 4pm using adult ‘volunteers’ from our audience to show the full kit worn by both the Stone Age ancestor hunting on the edge of the ice sheet and a late Neolithic Bronze Age warrior getting ready for battle.
Lots of activities for the family:
Trying on the fur clothing for all ages
Safe spear throwing at targets
Grinding corn into flour with a saddle corn quern
Cave painting
Mini crossbows with targets
Forest Schools activities
We are lucky to have both Plumpton College's Forest schools team and also Lucy's little Forest school at woodfair this year. Activities are designed to give children a chance to explore the natural world, and get excited about it.
Twisting Space
Twisting Space will be joining us with their amazing marble run - Check them out at Party in the park.
