I
started my working life as a bricklayer apprentice in the 1960's and worked my
way up to running my own building business. Unfortunately a serious accident meant
I was unable to continue in the building trade. With time on my hands and a
reduced income I began to make wooden toys for my grandchildrens' birthdays and
Christmas presents. Before I knew it friends were asking me if I could make their
children varying toys - and so my little business has grown.
I am now
a member of the British Toy Makers Guild, The East Sussex Guild of Craft Workers
and the Sussex Woodcraft Society.
I
will be exhibiting and selling my work at the annual Toy Makers Guild show at
the Oxo Tower on the South Bank in London from the 13th November - 3rd December
2006. |
